GRAPEVINE, Tex. — An explosive device blew up inside a baggage container aboard a jet during a stopover at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport Wednesday, destroying the bag it was in but causing no injuries, officials said.
The 147 passengers and seven crew members aboard American Airlines Flight 203, en route from Austin to San Francisco, were quickly removed from the Boeing 727 about 8 a.m. after smoke was found inside the baggage compartment, American spokesman John Raymond said.
