$240,000 Blaze Hits Granada Hills Home
Fire caused an estimated $240,000 in damage to a large ranch-style home Thursday night on the border of the Knollwood Country Club in Granada Hills, a Los Angeles City Fire Department spokesman said.
The fire, which started when embers from the fireplace landed on the house’s shake roof, broke out at 8:48 p.m. and caused part of the roof to cave in on the one-story house in the 12300 block of Hagen Place, spokesman Larry Ford said.
About 25 firefighters extinguished the fire in about 45 minutes. There were no injuries.
