The Region : 5 Arrested in Drug Raids

Five people, including two teen-agers, have been arrested in an ongoing Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department investigation of drug trafficking in several South Bay communities. A sheriff’s spokesman said raids in six locations during the last month resulted in the arrests and the seizure of 150 individual doses of LSD and small quantities of cocaine, marijuana and other hallucinogenic drugs. Also seized were nine weapons. Because the investigation is continuing, the spokesman declined to release the names or ages of those arrested and would name only one of the geographic areas--Palos Verdes Peninsula--that had been targeted by authorities. The spokesman predicted that additional arrests will be made.
