Faust Is Reported to Be Candidate for Rice Job

Gerry Faust, who last month resigned as Notre Dame football coach, is a candidate for the coaching job at Rice University in Houston, the Cincinnati Post reported.

The newspaper said Faust was scheduled for an interview Saturday at Rice, although Faust would not confirm it.

Rice Coach Watson Brown accepted the head coaching job at Vanderbilt last week.
