Contrans Corp. of Canada has agreed to acquire Global Transportation Service Inc. and its Orange-based Global Van Lines unit for an undisclosed amount, Global officials said. Global Transportation is the Houston-based unit of privately held WKG Inc. The sale, expected to be completed in about two weeks, is subject to approval of the Interstate Commerce Commission.

Contrans is a privately held trucking company based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The company had 1985 revenue of about $80 million. Global Van Lines also had 1985 revenue of about $80 million and all of the Global companies--including the international freight forwarding unit WKG is retaining--had 1985 revenue of about $150 million.
