POP HUMANOIDS

How nice to see the fine actress, Justine Bateman, added to your group of humanoids who appear in PopMeter (Jan. 26).
Isn’t it interesting that Bateman, an intelligent young woman best known for her appearances on “Family Ties,” strongly disagrees with Calendar Rock Czar Robert Hilburn and his henchpersons on virtually every entry?
And isn’t it further proof of what we all keep telling you--that The Times’ pop/rock writers have their you-know-whats up their you-know-wheres?
Why not let Justine become The Times’ rock/pop editor and let Hilburn join the cast of “Family Ties”? He’ll play her neurotic uncle, who believes the moon is made of Bruce Springsteen.

The office of the Rock Czar has commissioned Bateman to review the new Alan Parsons album.
