Laser Precision Corp., an Irvine-based manufacturer of measuring instruments for fiber-optic telecommunications, said the Chinese government has ratified a $1.1-million contract for purchase of the company’s technological systems and accessories for identifying and analyzing organic materials. The technology, called Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, is widely used in such fields as pharmaceuticals, plastics, petroleum, medical research and forensics.
