Countywide : Anything-Goes-Athon Scheduled for Saturday
The annual Orange County Anything-Goes-Athon has been rescheduled for Saturday at Anaheim Stadium. The event was originally scheduled for Feb. 8 but was canceled because of inclement weather.
Entrants can use any non-motorized means of transportation to complete the 6.2-mile course, including wheelchairs, skateboards, bicycles, stilts, unicycles, roller skates or their feet.
Participating in the all-day event will be members of the Anaheim Fire Department and 126 bomberos , firefighters from Mexico who have been taking part in a weeklong firefighting training program that ends today . Also, athletes from the California Assn. for Blind Athletes will take part.
Admission will be $10, with the proceeds going to the more than 60 local agencies that provide services for the county’s senior citizens, youth and disabled.
Registration begins at 8 a.m.; the events get under way at 11:30 a.m. and end at 3 p.m.
