93-Year-Old Pedestrian Hit by Bicyclist Dies
A93-year-old Thousand Oaks woman who was struck by a bicyclist while crossing a street has died of head injuries, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department said.
The accident occurred at 10:55 a.m. Tuesday when the victim, Della Phillips, was struck by a bicyclist while crossing Wilbur Road at Pennsfield Place, Sgt. Gary Freeman said.
Phillips’ head struck the pavement. She was taken to Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, where she died Wednesday, Freeman said.
The bicyclist, Christopher Budfuloski, 28, also of Thousand Oaks, said he did not see Phillips in time to avoid hitting her, Freeman said. Budfuloski was not injured.
Freeman said the investigation is continuing.
