Westwood One, which purchased Mutual Broadcasting System in December, filed the suit against Amway and its Multicomm Telecommunications unit. It claimed that the former owners are not living up to written non-competition agreements and covenants in the transaction. The suit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, claims that, since the December sale, Multicomm has operated shadow and independent networks with programming competing with the Mutual radio network. The Culver City firm asked the court to enjoin Multicomm from programming and advertising in violation of the purchase agreements.
