WEST WINDSOR, N.J. — Martina Navratilova, Hana Mandlikova and Pam Shriver--the top three seeded players in the ComputerLand U.S. Women’s Indoor tennis championships--advanced to the quarterfinals with straight-set victories Wednesday, but seventh-seeded Barbara Potter was upset by Alycia Moulton, 6-3, 2-6, 6-3.
Navratilova defeated Andrea Holikova of Czechoslovakia, 6-0, 6-4; Shriver never lost her serve in a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Raffaella Reggi of Italy, and Mandlikova, the tournament’s defending champion, showed no ill effects of a six-week layoff in defeating West Germany’s Sylvia Hanika, 6-3, 6-2.
