2 Die When Hit by Truck; Suspected Drunk Driver Arrested

LEMON GROVE — A pickup truck being driven by a suspected drunk driver crashed into a broken down pickup on the shoulder of California 94 Saturday, killing two teen-agers and injuring a third, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The 3:20 a.m. accident occurred on the shoulder of eastbound Highway 94 at Lemon Grove Avenue when the pickup truck driven by Michael Sanchez, 22, of Spring Valley, struck the disabled pickup and three teen-agers who were standing next to it, the CHP said.
One of the dead boys was identified as Robert Dennis Danner, 16, of Jamul. The name of the other dead boy, aged 15, was withheld pending notification of his mother. Paul Stuart, 17, of Jamul, was admitted to Mercy Hospital, where he was listed in satisfactory condition in the intensive care unit late Saturday.
Sanchez was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drunk driving, the CHP said.
