Lucas Flunks Drug Test, Is Fired

HOUSTON — Veteran point guard John Lucas was released by the NBA Houston Rockets today after he failed a drug test conducted after he missed a practice Wednesday.
Lucas has been admitted to a drug treatment center in California, team spokesman Jim Foley said, and will be allowed to sign with another club after he completes his hospitalization and if he follows the treatment program.
