Thrifty’s Profit Rises in 2nd Quarter, 6 Months

Thrifty Corp. reported that net income for the second quarter and six months ended Feb. 28 rose 5.3% and 6.4%, respectively.
The Los Angeles-based company, which operates drug and discount stores primarily in California, said profit for the quarter totaled $14.9 million, up from last year’s $14.1 million.
Revenue for the three months was $408.6 million, up 2.4% from the same 1985 quarter.
In the six months, net income was $19.03 million on revenue of $738.2 million.
