Trial for Shooting of College Dean Begins

AUBURN, Me. — A jury was selected Tuesday in the trial of a former Bates College student charged with shooting a school dean in the back.
Cain Rollins, 20, of Peekskill, N.Y., is accused of shooting James W. Carignan through a window at Carignan’s Lewiston home as he sat in his kitchen Oct. 21. Carignan, who was in charge of discipline at Bates, survived the attack.
