Other high school baseball scores: Oak Park 6, Carpinteria 5--The game was won in nine innings when Jeremy Lipton reached first on an error and was later singled home by Darrin Lloyd. . . . Alemany 11, Crespi 5--Mike Rooney just about did it all for Alemany. He was 3 for 3, including a three-run homer in the fifth inning, while pitching a complete game allowing eight hits. . . . Saugus 9, Palmdale 8--Saugus won it in the seventh inning, when catcher Gene Northway (3 for 4) doubled with two outs. Pinch-runner Steve Collar took over for Northway and was singled home for the winning run by Bryan Riley. . . . St. John Bosco 4, Notre Dame 3--Notre Dame pitcher Tim DeGrasse allowed only two hits in the game--both two-run homers. Monte McDermott hit the first one in the second, while Steve Balstad followed with other in the sixth. . . . Agoura 8, Santa Paula 2--Agoura pitcher Jon DeGennaro spread out four hits and struck out nine for the win. . . . Villanova Prep 13, Simi Lutheran 0--Villanova Prep got 10 runs off seven hits in the fifth inning for the win. . . . North Hollywood 4, Sylmar 1--North Hollywood was led by a first inning solo homer by Peter Washington. . . . Canoga Park 11, Cleveland 3--Canoga Park scored eight runs on five hits and four walks with two outs in the first inning. . . . Hart 6, Burroughs 1--Tim Nedin struck out 12 and allowed only three hits to lead Hart. . . . Pilgrim 13, Ribet 5--Pilgrim broke open a close game with five runs in the fifth inning. . . . Reseda 7, Taft 2--Reseda broke a scoreless tie with five runs in the fifth. . . . Chaminade 10, Cathedral 3--Peter Dunn hit a three run homer in Chaminade’s six-run fifth inning. . . . Faith Baptist 5, Buckley 0--Todd Stadig singled to drive in two runs with two outs in the third inning to lead Faith Baptist to the win. . . . Oakwood 13, Cal Prep 0--The game was called off by the umpire after Oakwood scored 13 runs in three innings. Oakwood scored six runs in the first inning as 10 players batted. In junior college baseball: Valley 12, Mission 0--Center fielder Chris Haslock went 3 for 5 with three RBIs to lead Valley. . . . Moorpark 4, Taft 3--Moorpark extended its win streak to five. Eric Fischer snapped a 3-3 tie in the eighth inning with a run-scoring single. Moorpark’s Bob Ayrault pitched his fourth complete game.
High School Track
The Simi Valley boys and Thousand Oaks girls track teams turned in impressive performances in a Marmonte League dual meet at Simi Valley on Tuesday. Simi Valley defeated Thousand Oaks, 93-34, in the boys competition, and Thousand Oaks won the girls meet, 115-13. Both teams are 3-0.
