Buena Park : Motorcycle Rider Who Hit Police Car Identified
A motorcycle rider who was critically injured when he crashed into a Buena Park police car last week was identified Wednesday as an Anaheim man.
Officers said Peter W. Rankin, 18, who remains hospitalized at UCI Medical Center in Orange, was identified through fingerprints.
Officers said the man had been pulled over for speeding shortly after midnight on April 9 but then fled from police. The chase wound through residential streets at speeds up to 100 m.p.h. before the rider rear-ended the police car just south of the Riverside Freeway.
