Santa Monica : Trial Set in Day-Care Case
- Share via
The trial of four members of the Santa Monica Foursquare Church charged with operating a child day-care center without a state license will be held June 18 in Santa Monica Municipal Court before Judge Rex H. Minter.
Co-pastors Ronald G. and Linda Norris and former center directors Marilyn Lumsdon and Dawn Sherman Forman were arrested in February after refusing to obtain a license for the Weekday Sunday School, 1224 20th St. State law requires the licensing of all child day-care centers. Church members maintained that licensing conflicted with their religious and constitutional liberties. The facility has been closed since the arrests.
