Quartz Hill Girl Long Jumps 21-3

Junior Madette Smith of Quartz Hill High School long jumped 21 feet 3 inches Thursday in a dual meet against visiting Canyon of Country Canyon.
Although wind-aided, it was the best long jump ever by a California high school girl.
Wendy Brown, who graduated from Woodside High and is now a sophomore at USC, has the longest legal jump ever by a California girl, 20-9 3/4, in 1984.
