College Softball : Fullerton Gets Shutout Sweep of USIU

Susan LeFebvre and April Jones each pitched a shutout to lead the Cal State Fullerton softball team to a sweep of United States International University in a nonconference doubleheader at San Diego Wednesday, 3-0 and 4-0.
In the first game, Diane Dodd and Michelle Gromacki tripled and Gromacki added two RBIs to help LeFebvre raise her record to 25-4. In the second game, Charis Monroe went 2 for 3 with an RBI and Terri Oberg tripled and scored a run. Jones raised her record to 8-0.
Fullerton is 44-5. USIU is 20-18.
In South Coast Conference play:
Cypress 3, Mt. San Antonio 0--The Chargers scored three runs in the fourth inning and came away with their 29th win, a single-season school record. Catcher Joelle Wilkerson tripled to drive in the first two runs and scored the third when she stole home on a rundown play. Cypress (7-4, 29-12) broke the school mark of 28 wins set in 1982. Mt. San Antonio fell to 0-11 and 11-14.
Rancho Santiago 7, Saddleback 1--Dons pitcher Kim Martin (8-1, 18-2) allowed her first earned run in conference play, but she had more than enough support from her offense. Lorraine Kalehuawehe was 3 for 3 with two triples and five RBIs. Sandy Martinez was 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored.
