PURPLE HAZE

If you live in Sheridan, Wyo.--and you’re a pal of Lisa Barber, the 20-year-old MTV contest winner who gets to host her own premiere of Prince’s “Under the Cherry Moon” Tuesday--you can get a sneak of the new Prince film. If you’re a critic, tough. Warner Bros. is refusing to schedule any critic screenings until Wednesday, when the pic opens in 1,000 theaters.
Usually that means bad news. Does Warners fears a negative reaction, like the one that greeted its “Cobra” (similarly hidden from reviewers)? “I’m not going to comment on that,” said a Warners exec. Will Warners make sure no critics try to sneak in? “I’m not going to comment on that either.”
