ON THE TOWN: Geez, we knew that...
ON THE TOWN: Geez, we knew that everybody loved Bill Cosby, but this is ridiculous. The owner of a Skokie, Ill., record store was robbed the other day. The culprit didn’t take records, just a life-sized stand-up replica of Cosby, which was in the store as a promotion for the TV star’s new comedy album. The thief has not been apprehended, but the store manager has put up a new Cosby stand-up, this one stickered with the same theft-proof tape normally attached to all records and tapes. . . . Meanwhile, the Kill, which features 15-year-old guitarist Will Sexton (yup, Charlie Sexton’s little brother), has signed with MCA Records. The band, which’ll be at the Whisky July 8 with the D.I.’s, will record its debut album this summer in San Marcos, Tex., with Joe Ely at the production helm. . . . And comic Father Guido Sarducci is celebrating the release of his new album, “Breakfast in Heaven,” with a live KMET-FM (94.7) broadcast Wednesday morning from 8 to 10 at (you guessed it) the Heaven store in Century City. Sarducci will be serving breakfast for 94 winners of a KMET contest.
