Comet Rice entered a marketing venture.

The subsidiary of Los Angeles-based Early California Industries is an equal partner in Comet American Marketing with American Rice, a major Southern rice marketing cooperative headquartered in Houston. Effective Tuesday, the partners will transfer their proprietary domestic rice brands to Comet American Marketing, except for those used by Comet Rice of California and Comet Rice of Puerto Rico. Early California is a food-processing company principally engaged in rice milling and production of bulk wines.
