Brian Earley Wins His 2nd Diving Event
Brian Earley of the Mission Viejo Nadadores on Friday won his second event in two days at the Southern California Open and Regional Junior Age Group Olympics at the Mission Viejo International Diving Complex.
Earley won the boys’ 13-14 one-meter diving competition. On Thursday, he won the three-meter springboard.
Chris Vonk of the Nadadores was second in the boys’ 11-12 one-meter event. Jason Hubbart of Mission Viejo finished sixth, Justin Curran of Mission Viejo was eighth, John Wisener of Irvine was ninth and Jason David of Mission Viejo was 10th.
Paul Spray of Mission Viejo finished second in the boys’ 15-17 three-meter diving. In the girls’ 11-12 three-meter diving, Susie Mullaney of Mission Viejo was third and Joy Burkholder of Mission Viejo was fourth.
Julie Handren of Mission Viejo was fourth in the girls’ 15-17 one-meter diving. Heather Hurt of the Nadadores was fifth and Lisa Hecker of Mission Viejo finished 10th.
In girls’ 10-and-under three-meter diving, Arika Earley of Irvine was seventh and Alison Woodruff of Irvine was eighth.
Competition continues today and Sunday.
