50 Left Homeless as Blaze Destroys Six Apartment Loft Units

About 50 people were left homeless Thursday, when fire destroyed six second-story apartment loft units located above a row of stores in the 3800 block of West Pico Boulevard.
No injuries were reported.
Los Angeles Fire Department officials estimated damage at $155,000, and several residents said they had lost all their possessions. The Red Cross set up an emergency shelter at nearby Los Angeles High School. Cause of the blaze was under investigation
