The World : 2 Marines Killed in Crash
Two Marines were killed and six others are presumed dead in the crash of a CH-46 Sea Knight helicopter in the Atlantic off Norway while it was taking part in North Atlantic Treaty Organization exercises, U. S. military officials said. Thirteen other Marines on the helicopter were rescued from the ocean after the crash, with two of them reported in serious condition. The helicopter was taking off from the assault vessel Saipan when it smashed into an empty chopper parked on the deck, officials said. The ship was about 60 miles west of Bodo, Norway, 75 miles above the Arctic Circle. Names of the victims were not immediately disclosed.
