Delaplane can, as I did, fly Air New Zealand from LAX via Tahiti. We left on a Sunday, spent Sunday and Monday nights in Papeete, then flew Tuesday noon to Rarotonga. Such a magical place. Reminded me of my native New Zealand 20 years ago--no rush hours, fast-food places, pollution or smog, just a clean, relaxed, enjoyable vacation.
