A Jordanian Embassy interpreter detained in Turkey in connection with the murder last year of a Jordanian diplomat, Ziad Sati, has confessed to having planned and ordered the slaying, police said in Ankara. The interpreter, Adnan Moussa Suleiman Ameri, an admitted member of the extremist Islamic Jihad (Islamic Holy War) organization, also confessed to planning and carrying out attacks on other diplomats, foreign military personnel and places of worship in Turkey, police said. The announcement did not say whether his involvement included the Sept. 6 attack on an Istanbul synagogue that killed 22 worshipers.
