A fire threatened 22 homes and burned seven acres of parkland on Mt. Soledad Tuesday afternoon, the San Diego Fire Department said.
Fire Department spokesman Larry Cooke said the threat of the fire at Kate O. Sessions Park was made worse by low humidity and Santa Ana winds. The fire was reported at 1:40 p.m.
Eighty firefighters kept the blaze away from houses on Edgeworth Road.
The Metro Arson Strike Team is investigating the cause of the fire. Cooke said that juveniles were seen in the area before the fire started.
