Propulsion Systems Chief for Space Shuttle Named

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Judson R. Lovingood, 50, a top space shuttle manager at the Marshall Space Flight Center, on Friday was named the center’s associate director of propulsion systems, the engineering post that will oversee work as the shuttle is prepared to resume flights.
The post includes assigning engineers to jobs on the shuttle, solid rocket boosters, external fuel tank, the futuristic orbital maneuvering vehicle and upper stage rockets, a National Aeronautics and Space Administration spokesman said.
