A man who found his stolen truck with the thief at the wheel tried to take control of his vehicle, but was dragged a short distance and killed, authorities said. Norbert Videau, 43, of Compton, found the vehicle and tried to pull the thief out of the cab, police said. The suspect drove away, dragging Videau who clung to the door for one-tenth mile before he fell off in the 2700 block of N. Alameda Street, said Lt. Jim Fette. Paramedics found Videau bleeding heavily from the head and face. He died at Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center from massive head and internal injuries, Fette said. The truck was found abandoned about a block from where Videau fell to the street, Fette said. No arrests have been made.
