USD Will Face a Sizable Opponent Tonight in Colorado
SAN DIEGO — Nils Madden, the University of San Diego’s senior forward, wasn’t too impressed by his season-high 22 points in the Toreros’ 87-60 victory over Loyola (Md.) Saturday night.
Madden, 6-foot 9-inches, dominated inside against the smaller Greyhounds.
“There really wasn’t much to it,” he said afterward. “I’m looking forward to going against some bigger people.”
Madden gets his chance tonight when the Toreros play host to Colorado at 7:30.
Colorado (3-3) is led by 6-10 sophomore Matt Bullard, 6-9 junior Scott Wilke, and 6-7 sophomore Dan Becker.
“It will be a lot like looking at ourselves,” USD Coach Hank Egan said. “They are patient on offense and look to work the ball inside.”
USD (7-3) has two straight victories. The Toreros play host to Ohio Northern Saturday before opening conference play Jan. 8 at Portland.
