Forward Michael Brooks, out of basketball for two seasons with a knee injury, signed a 10-day contract with the Indiana Pacers.
The former LaSalle star was a first-round draft pick of the San Diego Clippers in 1980 and played four seasons with them, averaging 13.7 points and 6.6 rebounds in 293 games. The 6-7 Brooks has been playing with the Tampa Bay Thrillers of the Continental Basketball Assn. this season, averaging 22.7 points and 10.8 rebounds a game.
Brooks, who averaged 23.1 points at LaSalle, filled a roster spot created Wednesday when veteran Herb Williams was placed on the injured list with bruised ribs.
