Art Schlichter, former Ohio State and Indianapolis Colt quarterback, is being sued by Merchants National Bank and Trust Co. of Indianapolis, alleging that he owes more than $56,000 in unpaid debts.
Schlichter, 26, was arrested earlier this month after an Indianapolis police investigation into illegal gambling. He faces a misdemeanor charge of illegal gambling. He was suspended by the National Football League during the 1983 season for gambling.
