WAGNER RETURNS TO PODIUM TONIGHT

Choral conductor Roger Wagner returns to the podium tonight, less than a month after suffering a brain hemorrhage while leading a concert at the Music Center.
Wagner will conduct the Seaver College Community Symphony and Choir in Smothers Theatre, Pepperdine University, in Faure’s Requiem, as part of a concert set to begin at 8 p.m. Thomas Osborne will lead the rest of the program.
Tonight’s concert had been scheduled before Wagner, 73, collapsed on the podium of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on Jan. 31 while leading the Los Angeles Master Chorale.
Mychel Walker, a Pepperdine spokesman, said Wagner has been rehearsing one hour each day at the Malibu school, beginning only 12 days after his collapse.
