BEIJING — Eighteen people were killed and 21 injured when two ships collided last month in dense fog on the Yangtze River in the southwest province of Sichuan, the China Daily said Thursday.
The report said the two ships had ignored fog regulations requiring them to reduce their speed and sound their horns when one ship hit the stern of the other March 8. As the second ship broke up, 4 crew members and 73 passengers were thrown into the river.
