Cook Pitches No-Hitter for Servite

Todd Cook pitched a no-hitter to lead Servite to a 4-1 victory over Pius X in an Angelus League baseball game Tuesday at Pius X.
Cook (1-2) struck out nine in seven innings, but hit a batter in the fifth inning, who later scored on a sacrifice. Cook has Servite’s only two losses this season, both in relief.
Corey Wentz and Chris Ulmer each hit solo home runs, Brian Chriss was 3 for 4 with a double and Bruce Petillo was 3 for 3 with an RBI for the Friars (7-1, 12-2).
Pius X is 0-9 in league.
In another Angelus League game:
Mater Dei 8, St. Paul 4--Larry Sutton hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning to break a 4-4 tie at Mater Dei. Kevin O’Conner was 2 for 4 with an RBI and Jim Austin and Brad Neglia each had two RBIs for Mater Dei (6-2, 10-4). Bill Brockschmidt (1-2) struck out three and walked three in seven innings for the Monarchs. St. Paul is 4-4 in league.
