Bellflower : Express Bus Line Canceled

An express bus service between Bellflower and Los Angeles will be canceled Monday. Line 455 operates only one rush-hour trip, and fewer than 50 passenegers will be affected, the Southern California Rapid Transit District said this week. It is one of 18 high-subsidy bus lines scheduled to be canceled next week due to high cost and low ridership.

But the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission authorized temporary funding for 16 of the lines until private operators under contract to the city and county can take over service in the fall. The city of Rancho Palos Verdes picked up service on a line serving its city, leaving only the 455 line to be cut.
