McDonald’s reported a 13% gain in second-quarter income to $253.46 million. The Oak Brook, Ill.-based company credited strong sales increases in both the United States and foreign markets and substantial growth in operating income. U.S. sales were helped by new products, successful promotions, ongoing growth in breakfast sales and better weather conditions than a year ago.
