Dukakis and Gephardt Agree to Debate Aug. 8

BOSTON — Massachusetts Gov. Michael S. Dukakis and Missouri Rep. Richard A. Gephardt have agreed to a one-hour Democratic presidential debate in Iowa on Aug. 8, aides announced.
The session will be held at Drake University in Des Moines and will focus on economics and the candidates’ records in office. The format will include opening and closing statements as well as direct questioning between the men.
