Shirley Temple, Julie Andrews and other Hollywood stars will sing and dance their way across Chinese TV on Sunday afternoons next year. “The Good Ship Lollipop” and “The Sound of Music” are just two of 51 classic movies that will be shown on a weekly American film series, the official Xinhua news agency reported this weekend. Other selections: “Grapes of Wrath,” “How Green Was My Valley” and “With a Song in My Heart.” The series started Sunday with “The Sound of Music.” All the movies, chosen from 150 films made between 1934 and 1970, were dubbed into Chinese.
