Local News in Brief : Tustin : Robber Threatens Teller, Gets Away With $826
A man who threatened to shoot a bank teller escaped with $826 after robbing the Sunwest Bank in the 500 block of East 1st Street at noon Tuesday, police said.
The robber, wearing a blue and gray pullover sweater, approached the teller and said he would shoot her if she did not empty her cash tray into his bag, Tustin police said.
The teller, who complied, told police that she did not see a weapon, although the man repeatedly said that he was armed, authorities said.
The robber, who was described as a Latino, about 30 years of age, with a mustache and collar-length black hair, fled on foot, police said.
