Sidekicks Get Past Lazers in Overtime, 4-3
Doc Lawson scored 3:46 into overtime Sunday night to give the Dallas Sidekicks a 4-3 victory over the Lazers in a Major Indoor Soccer League game played before a crowd of 7,044 at the Forum.
Lawson took an outlet pass from Kevin Smith in the right corner, and, from a difficult angle, kicked a shot off the leg of goalie A. J. Lachoweki into the net, ending the Lazers’ winning streak at three games.
Goals by Michael Collins, Paul Child and Thompson Usiyan gave the Lazers a 3-2 lead early in the fourth quarter. But with 44 seconds left in regulation, Mark Karpun deflected a shot by Smith past Lachoweki to send the game into overtime.
Dallas improved its record to 8-9. The Lazers are 8-7.
