The games keep getting bigger for Cal State Long Beach’s 7-3 basketball team, which plays undefeated and 15th-ranked Nevada Las Vegas tonight at the Long Beach Arena.
The Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. game starts at 7 and is the only scheduled Arena game for the 49ers this season.
In their PCAA opener Saturday night, the 49ers beat Cal State Fullerton, 76-69, for the first time since 1983. But they haven’t defeated Las Vegas since the 1980-1981 season, losing 13 straight.
The Rebels, 10-0 overall and 1-0 in the PCAA, defeated New Mexico State, 69-64, Saturday night. They are led by veterans Gerald Paddio, who is averaging 23 points a game, and Jarvis Basnight, averaging 17.
Morlon Wiley of Long Beach is averaging 20.6 points a game--and 26.7 in his last three games.
