Major Networks to Cover State of the Union Speech

NEW YORK — The major networks will preempt prime-time programming today to cover President Reagan’s State of the Union address, which begins at 6 p.m. PST. Cable News Network also will cover the speech live, as will PBS’ MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour.
