BEACH BUNGALOW

I was very pleased to see Rochelle Reed’s article on Brian Murphy’s new home in Santa Monica (“Beach Blanket Bungalow,” Dec. 27/Jan. 3). I found it to be very refreshing--Murphy is among the more creative and unusual young designers now working in Los Angeles. As a designer, I am familiar with Reed’s work--she is one of the few informed and interesting journalists covering architecture and design.
