From the “Has Joe Biden Heard About This?” file: British politician Neil Kinnock serenaded his colleagues in the House of Commons Wednesday--by playing a vacuum cleaner. The Labor Party leader was promoting a summer concert series in Wales, which will include a piece with the familiar domestic device. The vacuum will be featured at a July 22 family concert, when the Halle Orchestra of Manchester performs Malcolm Arnold’s “Grand Grand Overture for Obligato Vacuum Cleaners and Rifles.” The composition includes a musical contribution from six vacuum cleaners or “a sweep of Hoovers,” as Kinnock put it, all played by Welsh celebrities.
