Squabble Over the Nomination of Lungren for State Treasurer
In reference to Roberti’s inappropriate remarks about “life in the big city” (Part I, Feb. 17): Nobody has polled me as a nonpartisan voter, but the plurality among Californians that I have questioned believe that Lungren has represented us admirably in Congress, and would be a refreshing change as state treasurer in California.
The extraordinary and indeed reprehensible tactics used in opposition by the Democratic caucus in Sacramento reflects a substantial degree of insecurity and confirms suspicions of many of us that the incumbent Democratic majority in the state Senate cannot withstand incisive scrutiny. Stop this malicious fraud and put the question to the voters!
