Irish Firemen Have a Busman’s Holiday
DUBLIN, Ga. — The luck of the Irish was with two women who were trapped in their overturned car--six firefighters from Dublin, Ireland, helped rescue them.
Azzie Harrison, 72, and passenger Edna Rozar, 73, of Dublin, Ga., became trapped Tuesday after their car plunged over the side of a bridge into a creek.
Six members of the Dublin, Ireland, Fire Brigade, who are visiting to bring greetings from their lord mayor for the millennium of their Irish hometown, were in a fire station when the rescue call came. They joined in cutting through the car’s hood and breaking its windows to free the women, who were listed in fair condition Wednesday.
