A Fishy Review
Persuaded by the glowing review given by your columnist David Nelson, (“Crab Proves a Good Catch at New Pacific Beach Seafood Restaurant,” March 3) we ate at McCormick & Schmick’s last night.
I had the broiled mahi-mahi, which was sadly underdone. The accompanying potatoes were both cold and hard. I can handle cold or hard, but I really don’t like both. The asparagus was OK but also cold. The flavoring of the fish was not bad, the salad was good but very small, and the bread was good, though the butter pats were already melting.
My friend had the baked ling cod with bay shrimp. As usual, we exchanged a little food. I’m no expert, but her cod was really bad. It was both tasteless and to me seemed greasy. How baked fish can be greasy I don’t know.
We were early (not later than 6 p.m.), and there was no crowd in the restaurant. I suggest that you review this again.
P.S. The atmosphere and decor were nice, but you can’t eat them.
